Don't be a cautionary tale... - Helping Bodies Heal

Don’t be a cautionary tale…

You know how we often say “I’ll make this change on this date or after this event or that thing happens?” We all do it, I do it myself…I’m actually doing it right now! I decided to start my Abundantly Delicious Detox program on 10/5 AFTER my 40th birthday weekend. We’re human, it happens.

But….

Sometimes, putting off making those health and lifestyle changes can go too far and you can become a cautionary tale.

Take this message for what it’s worth but I feel compelled to share this story:

Part of my extended family is going through a health-related crisis right now with their 17yr old daughter. Out of nowhere a seemingly healthy and active child is now on a ventilation system with a dire prognosis.

What lies underneath this story is a history of a poor diet — too much of the “bad” stuff like sugar and not enough of the “good” like vegetables.  Yes, the little girl was active and always has been but as the saying goes “you can’t out exercise a bad diet.”

I’m writing this story for 2 reasons:

1) If you have an inkling that you need to be making better health choices or addressing some health-related issue you are currently experiencing (allergies, bloating, fatigue, skin issues, weight, etc) – pay attention to that feeling — it’s there to tell you something. That is your intuition trying to guide you to TAKE ACTION.

2) A diet made up of sugar, unhealthy fats, not enough fiber and vegetables and poor quality meat loaded with hormones and other chemicals — will eventually catch up to you and it’s often not pretty.  Our bodies are really good at adapting and taking abuse but at some point it will give out.

If you care about yourself; if you care about your family and friends; and if you want to feel empowered in a way that you haven’t felt in a long time (if ever) NOW is the time to MAKE A CHANGE!

Unsure of where to begin? Lucky for you, you know a Health Coach that can help educate and guide you through a transition where you’ll feel better and look better on the outside and inside.

Honestly though — whether you contact me or someone else or do it on your own — my only intention with message is to urge you to do something to improve your situation.

There will never be a perfect time take on certain kinds of challenges but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do it anyway.  Was it perfect timing when you got married or had kids or changed jobs or moved to a new house?  No? So why does the time have to be perfect to address your health?

I leave you with this: what step can you take right now to shift your mindset and behavior towards healthier choices?  Comment below, I’d love to cheer you on!
