Spices that heal! (with recipes!)

Most of us use spices to add flavor to our food — garlic, cumin, turmeric, cinnamon, paprika are some of my faves.  Spices are what generally translates the same ingredients to many different cuisine’s from region to region around the world.

But there’s a whole other side and reason to FALL IN LOVE with spices – they have healing properties!  And there’s scientific data to back this up!  These spices have been studied for their ability to keep down inflammation and prevent neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis and brain tumors.  Good stuff right?  Who doesn’t want to keep their brain healthy just by adding a few sprinkles of this and that to your everyday meals — complete no brainer!

EVERY DAY we are inundated with pesticides, herbicides, chemicals, contaminants and other toxins; many of which, like LEAD and MERCURY, directly impact our brain development and functioning.  It’s nice to know that Mother Nature saw fit to help us balance the load with delightful spices!

So what are these wonder-spices?  Many of them are items you use regularly and there are probably a few you should get to know more intimately!  Add these babies to smoothies, sauces, dressings, veggie dishes and more!
